Bubbles and Games

It was such a beautiful day today that the kids and I decided to take advantage of it and spent some time playing outside. We played with bubbles a beach ball and some games. 

The kids loved playing different games together. They played What Time is it Mr Wolf, Go-Go Stop, and by Davids request Freeze Tag.

It was such a beautiful and fun afternoon. The kids and I are looking forward to spending more and more time outside this spring.

Weekend Plans

Tomorrow is a inservice day at Davids school, which of course means no school.

This evening as the kids and I started to plan what we would do tomorrow one of the suggestions that David had was "cleaning". Yup you read that right cleaning!

David loves to clean, he always has. I have had both my kids a part of my daily cleaning their whole lives. David has always loved it and get energized by cleaning and organizing. Which I understand because I am the same way. Where as Jaclyn is more like her daddy in were they will clean when it's needed but they won't go looking for something to organize just for fun.
It made me giggle that out of all the things that David talks about missing when he is at school such as playing with his sister, staying in pjs for the day or even watching a movie the one thing he wants to make sure we do on his extra day off is clean.

So it looks like our day tomorrow will include things like, a picnic in the living room, puzzles, reading books together, a movie and cleaning!

Snow Day!

Winter is now upon us and it looks like it is here to stay. I have a love hate relationship with the winter months. I love how the ground and trees look after a fresh snow fall and I love how excited my children get when they see the beautiful snow outside our window. As much as I love the winter months the winter months do not like me. I get so cold that I feel chilled to the bone all the time which can hurt. As my husband pointed out this afternoon, I spend most days walking around the house with a blanket wrapped around me just trying to stay warm. 

Today Chris took the kids outside to play in the snow. They had lots of fun playing together. Jaclyn has been talking about making snow-angels for at least a month now and David has been looking forward to building a snow fort in our backyard.

Spring where are you??

Yesterday the kids and I went for a lovely walk outside with their wagon. It was actually really nice outside, in fact the weather here has been getting a little warmer everyday. 

My whole family has been happy that Spring is here and we have been talking about riding bikes, walks, picnics as well as playing sports outside now that the weather is clearing up. 

Then this morning the kids woke up to this:

When David saw the snow this morning he said:  "Why does the snow keep coming back, I thought it was Spring?"

Jaclyn said: "Why, more snow?" 

As I am writing this my children are down the hall playing with Transformers and a mini ball pit. Just a few moments ago I heard David tell Jaclyn: "we should play in our rooms and wait for the snow to go away again".

I just hope that we aren't waiting for that long.

Spring where are you??

Dog-pile!

Over the past few months the kids have started this new thing where they will dog-pile one another or
anyone else who happens to be on the floor.

For example, when David is sitting on the floor reading a book, doing a puzzle or even playing with toys, Jaclyn will come up and lay on top of his back and pretend to sleep. Sometimes David does the same type of thing to Jaclyn but more often then not it is Jaclyn who "sleeps" on David. 

 The morning this was taken, David had just put together a large puzzle on the floor. After it was done, Jaclyn said to him "lay down so we can see who's bigger" and of course he agreed. Then as soon as he laid down she jumped down on him and pretended to sleep on him, sneaky little girl. I managed to get a picture of this interaction and then they both started to act even sillier because I was taking pictures! 

The kids are so funny sometimes I just have to laugh!
